Stained Glass?
Four years ago, we moved into a new home. The front door had windows on both sides. I like them, but there is just no privacy. So, I looked into several different options, none of which I really liked. In the past I have done some faux stained glass, and decided that is what I was going to do. I never finished it because our dog likes to look outside; I just left the bottom left window clear so she could lay on the floor and look out. Well, since we are selling our home, I had to finish, and this is the finished product.
Bead Soup Blog Party In Just Three Days!
Just a few more days til the party! And, of course, everything is happening that day. I plan to visit everyone, but probably will be taken several weeks to do so. I think I will start with my partner's blog, and work down the list, doing it in sections. If you all like jewelry, you need to check out the party. I know, there are 362 participants, but they come from all over the place, check out the map! Twenty-one countries and five continents. Now that's a lot of places! For a list of all the participants, check out my blog. Now I best go and take pictures of the finished product and get it ready to post Saturday at midnight...

For Sale
Well, it is official, Bill's last day of work was Friday, and now we have a for sale sign in our front yard. I can't believe we are doing this again. Hopefully this will be the last time!
We had two realtors come in and look over the place and give us an estimate on what we should list our house for. The one I picked is pretty successful. So, I am hoping we have a sold sign out there pretty quick. Lately, we have had several houses in the neighborhood sell. One of them went before they could even get the sign up. I am hoping to be lucky and get this one sold quickly.
Don't really know how this is going to work, though. Everything has to go just right. You see, several months ago, before we knew we were moving, I booked a cruise with my mom and one of my sisters. It is getting pretty close to sail date. I hope I don't have to ix neigh the cruise. I will be very sad. Hopefully everything will fall into place perfectly. If we can just get someone in here within the next couple of weeks, and get it sold, then have the move in date be just before Thanksgiving (enough time for them to be in here and settled before the holidays), that would give me time to go on my cruise, spend the following week with my family like I had planned, then come home, get everything ready for the packers and movers, and then be off.
Bill and I already have seen a few houses we like in Kentucky. I have a house hunting trip coming up soon, so hopefully, those houses will still be available, and we can pick one that is best for our family, and move right in. Don't really know how things will come together, but I guess, I just have to hope for the best. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!

Finally Got My Pictures Up For The Bead Soup Blog Party!
I finally got my pictures uploaded, and now I find out that Blogger has changed the way you upload pictures, so I am learning. I sure hope this comes out looking good! Anyway, here are the beautiful beads Heather sent me. Aren't they pretty, I love the blues and greens, and of course the silver.
| We have green and blue sea glass, blue freshwater pearls, blue rectangular glass, silver flowers, and a really pretty turquoise glass focal and floral clasp caption |
Then I saw this other really cool focal. I loved the colors, so I sent a mixture of glass beads to match. The focal was actually the same type I used with my daughter's wedding jewelry. I can't wait to see what Heather does with them.

Bead Soup Blog Party
Just a note....the Bead Soup Blog Party is coming up next week. I sure hope I get my computer fixed so I can post some pictures. You may be wondering, "Hey, she just posted pictures last post." Well, yes I did, but I had started that blog over a month ago before my computer started having issues. So, hopefully, it will be all straighten up before the party next Saturday, 17 Sept. If you are curious as to what a Bead Soup Blog Party, go to Loris Anderson's blog to find out.
Just a little info on my beads....like wow! I was able to get not just one piece but FOUR pieces. I wore some last week to church, and my daughter already has her eye on one of the pieces. My partner, Heather Marley, sent some gorgeous beads, and lots of them. I got some sliver flower beads, sea glass beads the color of the Caribbean, variegated deep blue oval elongated beads, and some freshwater beads that remind me of the ocean at night....oooo, ahhhhh! She also sent me some glass blue rectangular beads. The center piece is a Caribbean green aerodescent large square bead. Then there is the really cool flora clasp. As soon as I saw that, I knew it was going to be more than just a clasp, it had to be a focal too!
Well, ya'll wish me luck on getting my computer back from the doctor soon, so I can put up the pictures. Hopefully, I will be able to put the before pictures and after pictures up on party day. Meet The New Couple
Jeremy's parents were married in the LDS Washington DC Temple, and so were we. That's why they decided this was where they wanted to be married. So, the family members traveled from, Louisiana and Indiana to Washington DC.
.
The the colors she chose were bright yellow and turquoise, and the theme...butterflies.
A couple years ago, while Jeremy was on his mission in Chile, Ashley wrote a poem . They have known each other a long time, and started dating while still in high school. It has been quite the journey, and the poem is one I know you all will enjoy (it is toward the end of the blog). You will notice her engagement ring has butterflies on it. Instead of a diamond, a blue topaz was chosen (her birthstone).
Just a few days after the wedding, the first reception was enjoyed by all in Muncie, IN (Jeremy's hometown). About a month later, the second reception was here in Monroe, LA.
Just before the couple settled in their new home, I took her out by the bayou for her bridals. They came out really well.
Ashley picked out a dress that was just her style...not like any other we have seen. Long in the back and shorter in the front, it was able to show off her yellow shoes. The dress had a lace overlay, with just a small touch of sparkle. She fixed her hair a couple of different ways. At the wedding and Muncie reception, she wore her hair half pulled back with a barrette of white silk flowers. At the Monroe reception and her bridals, she wore a crown with blue and clear crystals. For jewelry, I made her a necklace, earring, bracelet set made of freshwater pearls, mother of pearls, and swarovski crystals.
So, now all the planning and traveling is over with, and the happy couple is busy working and going to school. I look at them, and think about how fast time goes. It does not seem that long ago that Bill and I were a newlywed couple. Twenty-eight years and four kids later, we are still very happy. I hope the best for this new couple. Someday, they will look back just was I have, and think.."Where has the time gone!?"
