Should I or Should I Not

I am debating....on whether to do an arts and craft show. The last time I did one, it was pretty unsuccessful, for everyone! I don't think it was well advertised, and the weather did not cooperate too well either.

This past Saturday, our dulcimer group played at a fund raiser for our local humane society. It was the first time we played in public, and we had a lot of people stop and talk to us. They were pretty interested in this strange instrument that many had never seen before. Some even hung around and sang a little. It was fun.

Well, I got to talking to someone about my jewelry, and how I would like to start selling it. I don't want to get into it in a huge way, just want to be able to create, share, and make some money to buy more beads to do more creating. This is when I heard about an arts and craft fair coming up in a few weeks.

Currently, I have my craft room pulled apart because I am in the middle of pulling down wallpaper and painting. My bead stuff is everywhere, but I did manage to find some of the pieces I have put away for gifts, etc. Wow....I have quite a bit, so I'm really thinking about doing this event.

I need to make a decision quick.

I have a big variety...guitar string bracelets and ornaments, paper bead jewelry,

wire, pearls, crystals,

I even did some crocheting with wire and glass beads.

Oh, and there will be Christmas and Halloween stuff too.

Oh, and some very different pieces too, like this necklace made of chain, sari ribbon, and hand made clay beads.

I think I may even have a few scarfs too...

So....I believe I've just about talked myself into doing it....
What do you think?

  1. Do it!! It will get you out there, and you may find out about other avenues to sell your work.

  2. That is true. I've been wanting to start teaching more classes and get my tappingflamingo youtube channel out there. This would probably help a lot.

  3. I'd say DO IT. Many times I had such dilemma but each time learned some thing-about craft shows, other vendors, life...some times I still wonder if it was worth the time and energy!

    1. Thank you, Anindita for stopping by and give me some advice. It is hard sometimes to do new things, but I think this is something I need to do.
