Autumn Warmth

As the warmth of the Summer begins to dwindle, and Autumn  shows her presence, we soon experience cooler temperatures. Many of us look forward to this time of year...Personally, I love the hot summer days...

But the rays of the sun still shine upon us. Yes, it might be cooler, but nature still teases us with warm, sunny days throughout the fall season.

No longer do we have the bright hues of summer that I love, but the beautiful fall colors are just as nice to feast our eyes upon; just a little change, and change is good.

Gone are the summer greens from trees and grasses, or the many wonderful shades of pink flowers.  The Autumn's colors of oranges, reds and golden reflect off the rays of the warm sunshine so nicely.

TappingflamingoBling is changing with the seasons. Hello! My name is Terry Jeanette, and I am the creator of TappingflamingoBling, a one of a kind beachy, bohemian shop. I design and create each and every piece of jewelry and accessory found here.

I would like to introduce my newest line; Autumn Warmth. Each piece is  one of a kind, made from Picture Jasper, Red Agate, Fossil Coral, and crystals and glass beads of oranges and yellows...perfect for Summer and will take you into the Fall.

I love the sunburst chandelier earrings.

rusty orange

Don't you love the feel of the warm sun shining against your skin? I do! I think that is why I love these sun charms so much, as they dangle off the fall color crystals

and glass Saturn beads

I love simple, yet I love my jewelry to be noticeable.

I wired this Noah's Ark stamped charm with a fossil coral. I love to mix my metals, so you have brass and silver tone in this piece, which makes the animals and ark stand out

This large picture jasper and sun charm necklace is made to easily slip over your head...no clasp!

and this necklace is very simple as well, yet the sun toggle clasp is a fun little extra. If your necklace clasp slips to the front, as they all do, you have a pretty little sun that shows instead of a plain looking fastener.

These pieces and more are ones I have been working on, and have just been listed in my shop. Since these are one of a kind, once they're gone, they're gone. I hope you can grab your special conversation piece before they vanish. They are going quickly...

Emails, Jewelry and Nails

I would like to pick your brain? Do you like emails? Specifically, those you have subscribed too. Did you subscribe because you genuinely wanted to keep up with what the company is doing, or was it because you got some sort of a freebie?

If you have followed me for any amount of time, you know about TappingflamingoBling. Just recently, I have added a little side business with Color Street called TappingflamingoBling Nails. Both TappingflamingoBling and TappingflamingoBling Nails have Facebook pages with all the recent news.

Anyway...I've been told I NEED an email list. To be honest, I don't like a bunch of emails clogging up my feed. I have over 50,000 unread emails, and I just cannot keep up with it. Mostly, the way those have accumulated is through unsolicited emails...spam, and the fact that I go places that I don't have good internet, or internet at all. My mother in law lives in the back woods of Tennessee, and has horrible service. Our family cruises at least once a year, and we unplug from technology during that time. So...ya...my emails have gotten out of control.

So, back to the question...do you enjoy the emails you have subscribed to? Should Tappingflamingo start one. If she did...it would be short, informative, and to the point, yet very much on the upbeat and friendly side....something like the following...

Hello everyone! This is Terry Jeanette with the Tappingflamingo! Hope everyone is doing well.

I've been very busy with life, and I love it! Family is always top priority. I've also been busy with our dance group getting ready for a big gathering at the local senior center. We will be performing at the annual luncheon called Rootn' Tootn'. Yep, you are reading it right. It is a really fun event.

Tappingflamingo has also been busy designing some new types of bling. Do you like ankle bracelets? I think they can be very sexy, and I am hoping to have some ready for the shop soon. They are adjustable and waterproof! and, if you don't like to wear them on your ankle, they can be worn on your wrist.

One other thing! I have just started a new venture with a product I have fallen in love with...Color Street. This company is fantastic! They make nail polish in strips that you can stick on your nails...NO drying time. What about that!

Today, Thursday 25 July, 2019, and TODAY only, they are having a great Throw Back Thursday. Here are the details. Click here to take you to my website to order these.

Well, that's all for now...This is Terry Jeanette with the Tappingflamingo Signing out for now. Ya'll have a wonderful day!

Ok...so let me know what you think. Would you want a weekly email from the Tappingflamingo?

How I Went From Short Stubby Fingernails to Longer Nails...

I have always been self conscious about my hands, especially my nails.  I don't have any pictures to show. Even my wedding pictures of the rings, I made sure my husband was covering up my fingernails.

Forever ago, I started biting my fingernails. I know...that is pretty nasty, but as much as I tried, I could not stop. One day I was biting at them, and I chipped my tooth! Well, that did stop me, but then I went to picking at them.

I have never had nice nails. They were always paper thin and would split...then I would start picking at them, and before you know it, they were pretty much non existent.

I tired everything. One time I went to a nail salon and got acrylics. Boy, was that ever a mistake. I work with my hands....A LOT...and they kept coming off. The ones that stayed on just ruined my nails.

I tired putting nail polish on them, but that just made me pick at them worse!

Finally, I just gave up....

Then one day, I met someone who was a Color Street Independent Stylist. I got some samples and took them home....and they just sat there. I remember years ago, getting some sample like this, and when I looked into how to put them on, well, it was just too overwhelming. Too much heating, and using things that I would have to go purchase.

Little did I know, these were not like that. No heating, no tools!

About two weeks later, I ran into this person again, and she gave me another sample and told me to go try them. She showed me how to use them, and I promised her I would try them. I went home, did some research, and them applied them.

They were pretty easy to apply. Just to let you know, I don't do much make up and hair type stuff. Never been much of a primper, so for me to be able to do this, it must be pretty simple.
So, I wore these things for SEVENTEEN days!!!! Actually, they are only suppose to last 10 to 14 days, depending on how fast your nails grow, but since mine do not grow very fast, I got 17 days out of them.

My nails are now the longest and healthiest they have ever been. Color Street does not chip, so it doesn't make me want to pick at them. When I see the prettiness of my nails, I am reminding NOT to pick. It is working!!!!
I am a jewelry designer and maker, so I work with wire and things like that, which can scratch and chip polish. I have NOT had an issue with Color Street.

So what exactly is Color Street. It is REAL nail polish. They are not wraps or stick on or press on nails. You apply the polish like a sticker to your own nails.
One thing about Color Street too, is they are very affordable, and take no time to put on. I like to put them on in the evening, just before I got to bed. This allows the polish to cure, as you are really not suppose to get your hands wet for at least 30 minutes.
The cost is $11 to $14. Color Street comes in solids, glitter, artistic, and French manicure. You get two strips of eight nail polish. Each finger can be used on two of your nails...to 8+8=16x2=32!!! You can get 32 fingers looking pretty! And that is for $11 for solids, $12 for glitter, $13 for artistic and $14 for French manicure.

So...if you are interested in trying these babies out, let me know! Here is the link to my web page. If you want to check out my facebook page go to Tappingflamingobling Nails

Bead Peeps Bead Swap Reveal 2019!

About six weeks ago, I signed up for a bead swap and hop. Bead Peeps, Linda Anderson of Cherry on Top Design organized the fun, and she paired me up with Cynthia O'Toole of Sparkles and Sweets.

Check out, in detail, all the things I sent Cynthia here...

and go here to see all the pretties, in detail, she sent me.

any who.....

The day has finally come! Today is the big reveal!!!
so....I'm going to just hop right into it...
First, I decided to make a bunch of earrings. Since I had so many beads and fun stuff, I knew they would make some pretties for your ears.

I really like how the links turned out as earrings!

Here are more links and beads. I added some howlite beads I already had on hand for a pop of color.

More of my own stash of howlite on these for added color.

Since coral is the color of the year, I decided to add some coral colored beads for a pop of color to these.

Love how the howlite enhances the amber color in these glass beads.

...and then the coral with the amber looks so summery fun!

How about a pair of mismatched summer earrings?

I think the earrings pair nicely with this necklace!

I love the boho hippie style, and this rose is prefect on the cream hemp cording and glass beads.

Some more boho hippie...

Normally, I don't wear crosses. I am Christian, but we like to reflect on the resurrection of the Savior, not His death.
That being said...I am part of a line dance group, and the ladies like to wear their crosses. This will be a perfect piece for me to wear when we perform.

One of the items I make quite frequently are the wax cord adjustable bracelets. I love how the crystal starfish looks with the blue and white cording.

Here is another one of my surfer style wax cord, adjustable bracelets.

Remember the really pretty stone I mentioned in an earlier post? I mentioned I would like to have kitchen counter tops like this. Well, this is what I made with it. I took some silver tone wire to make a pendant and hung it onto the coconut beads Cynthia sent. I had some sea foam green sea glass beads I added, along with some silver tone chain, and a fun toggle clasp I had in my stash. I really love the way this piece turned out. This is a very versatile piece, and I have a feeling I will be wearing this quite a bit.

In this bead swap challenge, there is a few side challenges..and their are prizes too!

One of the things we are challenged to do is to think outside the box.

This last piece is not jewelry for your body, but jewelry for our car!

Yes...a rearview mirror dangle, or charm, or hanger. Not really sure what you call them. But it is something for you to hang onto the rearview mirror of your car!

I love the little lovebirds that hang from this piece!

The other categories in the design challenge are
Best Design
Best of Color.
