Yes, this year I turned the big 5-0! For my birthday, my sister gave me a bag full of a variety of things. One of the things I got were some blue crystal starfish. I have been eye-balling these for quite some time and was so happy she gave them to me. I had them for about 6 weeks, trying to figure out how I wanted to string them up. Finally, I finished them up and have really enjoyed them.
Christmas is coming soon! Each year on my husband's side, we rotate family names. This year, we have his oldest sister and her family. After seeing these beautiful shiny black glass beads, I decided to make her this necklace and matching earrings.
My youngest son plays on his high school football team. GO PANTHERS!!! Anyway, for an upcoming fundraiser, I made this necklace and earring set to be auctioned off.
Nice work! You should do something to auction on your blog!
ReplyDeleteya...I use to have a small business when we lived in NC, but then when I was home schooling all four kids, it just got to be too much. Now, I am floundering on how to get back into it again. The town we are living in now, well, there's not many places to sell. Also with the tax laws...well...I don't know. My sister has been doing this, and even has several books out. She's working on another one as we speak. I actually have them posted on my blog, and her blog is The Crafty Princess Diaries if you ever want to check some of her stuff out. She also has an about.com site. I think I'm going to have an open house between Thanksgiving and Christmas and see what happens, and go from there. I really don't know how to do an auction on my blog, not sure if I really have that many followers right now.
ReplyDeleteThose turned out awesome. Check into Etsy.com and Artfire.com - You can open shops up there. I started with Etsy and prefer that and really don't have time to do much to my shop there, but Artfire seems to growing in popularity ,and last time I checked you could have 10 items listed for free. With Etsy, setting up the shop is free, but they charger per item you list plus a little fee if you sell something. It's peanuts, but still, not free.
