More Bead 2018 Swap Creations

A few weeks ago, I was able to be involved with a bead swap with Donna M Hoblit of Vera Donna Treasures. Lori Anderson was our host!

In my last post, I showed off some of the things she sent. In this post, I decided to show you all the pretties she sent, and what I did with them.

A blue and white bracelet bar...

So, to put it all together!

I love this bracelet!

Then I decided to use the blue bracelet bar as a focal for this necklace.

I think it pairs nicely with the wave bead she sent....

...and the Ancient Roman glass beads. I decided to add some freshwater pearls I got from Puerto Rico.

This is what the back of the bracelet bar look like.

Then, I had to make some matching earrings! 

Now for the lavender sea glass beads....

I decided to use the cream colored bracelet bar, and more of my Puerto Rican freshwater pearls. These pearls are bumpy! Then I added some copper butterflies and champagne crystals.

The bracelet goes with both the necklaces!

Thank you, Donna for these gorgeous pieces. I enjoyed working with different elements that were new to me. 

October 2018 Bead Swap Creations

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the items I received from my bead swap partner, Donna M. Hoblit of VeraDonna Treasures. 

Today....I want to show off my creations.

First a little reminder of the palette she sent....

and the incredible collection...

...ancient Roman glass,

one of three ceramic bracelet bars

...and one of my favorite things, this bead with waves on it! I decided to use the bracelet bar and wave bead together as a focal for this long necklace.

I used the Roman glass and some freshwater pearls I bought last May while in Puerto Rico. The spacer beads and chain are copper. I also used a hint of silver tone in this necklace by using a few tiny silver tone seed beads.

Here is the back of the bracelet bar.

I just love the way this piece turned out!

Then, of course, I had to make some matching earrings....

...again, using the Roman glass, freshwater peals, copper spacer beads, and silver tone seed beds and findings. I love to mix my metals in most all my pieces.

My Oct 2018 Bead Swap

Several years ago, I was able to participate, for the first time, in a bead challenge called....BEAD SOUP. Lori Anderson is the creator of this fun idea. I have had the privilege of participating quite a few times now...and I enjoy each one.

So..,you might be wondering how this works. Well, after submitting your info...name, address, url to your blog, and whether or not you want to ship to another country or not, you are paired up with another jewelry designer.

The two of you then converse, and get to know each other a bit. Then the fun begins...you get to swap beads with each other. You send them some pretties, and you get pretties from your partner.

After receiving your beads,  you create and blog about it.

This swap is a bit different, though. Previously, we were to send particular items such as a focal and clasp. This time, we had four different color palettes to choose from.

 I love the colors, and unusual things she sent.

I sent her the forest colors...

and will be blogging about that at a later date. I will try to remember to come back here and link to the blog when I get it written. I plan to wait awhile because I did a challenge within a challenge, so to speak. You see, I kept the same beads I sent her, and created something with them. She is going out of the country for a couple of weeks, and I want to give her time to get back and do her own creating before I post what I did. I think it will be interesting to see how different or how similar our individual creations will be with the same beads.

But back to the beauties Donna sent me. Thank you, Donna! Everything is so lovely! Stay tune for the reveal, and my explanation of my creations next week....Yes, I already have them done, and I absolutely love them!
